History of Above the Waves Radio

Across the Waves Radio is a community‑based internet radio station headquartered in Waltham forest in London, founded with the purpose of giving voice to local communities, independent musicians, and diverse creative talent from across the globe.

 

The station officially launched on 4th March 2024, beginning as a grassroots project driven by a passion for music, culture and community engagement. From the outset, Across the Waves Radio set out to be more than just another online station — its mission is rooted in connection, discovery and celebration of creativity in all forms.

 

Since its launch, the station has become a vibrant platform that brings people together through sound, conversation and shared experience. It supports artists and communities by providing accessible broadcasting and a welcoming space for voices that might otherwise go unheard.
